Follicle-stimulating Hormone helps to control the growth of the ovarian follicles. The ovarian follicles facilitate the production of female sex hormones (Estrogen and Progesterone). Follicle-stimulating Hormone Test or FSH (serum or urine) Test helps to determine the level of FSH hormone in the blood and is done to check the proper functioning of the male and female reproductive organs.

Higher values in men indicate Klinefelter’s syndrome, Testicular damages by diseases, chemotherapy and alcoholism. Low value indicate infertility in men and women, brain tumour and pituitary gland disorders.
